Indian Premier League offers the different pattern of prize money among the players. Top four teams get the prize money, while no money is provided to the rest of four teams. Hence, the popularity of the tournament doubles and teams do some serious business when enters in the final fours.

According to the intimated guidelines of the IPL/BCCI, whatever the prize money team earns  it will be equally distributed  between its players and franchise in equal ratio.

In the last season, the IPL has a net budget of about 47 Crore. The winning team will get around 20 crores whereas the losing franchise will get as much as 11 crore. Remaining part of the money is distributed equally between the 3rd and 4th teams.
